Saab knew West Lafayette was the right place to build our section of the United States Air Force T-7A trainer jet because the partnership offered with Purdue Research Foundation, Purdue University, the State of Indiana, and the regional community was one of the best and most supportive partnerships I’ve ever seen. The entire team worked incredibly hard to complete the facility on time and on budget despite the chaos of a global pandemic and they continue to work together seamlessly to ensure Saab has everything we need to be successful in West Lafayette. In Indiana, we have access to highly qualified talent and a top-ranked University across the street. Planting our roots in Indiana was a great decision.

Rolls-Royce values the longstanding relationship we have with PRF and Purdue University, from recruiting and hiring Purdue engineering graduates to building and expanding our test facilities in the Discovery Park District at Purdue. This relationship shows how industry and academia benefit when they form strong collaborations.

We are excited to establish a larger presence in the Midwest. The Discovery Park District, adjacent to the Purdue Airport, is a convenient location for our business aviation needs and company’s future expansion. This new facility will enable us to enhance the service we provide to our customers in the area, and we will benefit from the proximity to Purdue by both research and the talent pool the university provides. There is a high demand for power engineering, and this initiative will help us meet those demands.
